COLOR PALETTE
The concept for the color palette drew inspiration from papel picado, a traditional Mexican paper craft known for its vibrant colors seamlessly blending together. In envisioning the brand, I aimed to capture the essence of this colorful craft. Rather than opting for a single representative color, the goal was to infuse a dynamic and harmonious blend of colors that reflects the richness and diversity of the papel picado tradition.
THE LOGO
The inspiration behind the logo came from some modern murals I stumbled upon online. They had this great mix of modern elements with a natural, hand-drawn touch that I really connected with. I knew I wanted the patterns to be a standout feature, so I opted for a simplified logo. That way, everything blends smoothly without any visual clashes when they're all together.
PROCESS
I went through multiple different versions at first. I had originally wanted to have an element in the logo itself, but I decided that since there would be multiple different flavors, and that the packaging would be busy, that the simple text would work perfectly.
MOCKUPS
While making these, I would think back to when I was little and I tried to find my influences there. I came back to my favorite restaurant and the patterns on the tables and walls made a lightbulb go off in my head. I looked online and did further research and ended up with this pattern.
